Mike, running non stop helped, but the car just didn't have enough horsepower for its weight. The winning car qualified at 112 mph, with an average of 96. The Cummins had a top speed of 96 and an average of 86 mph.

If it ran nonstop, why didn't it win? Seems like that would have been a big advantage.

Judging by the grill, this might be the twin car. It was shown at Pebble Beach in 2016.

A riding mechanic in a bowler hat ...................... now that is pretty neat.

This was built in 1933-34 by Duesenberg Brothers racing using a model A Duesenberg chassis for Cummins and they built two of them .Cummins still owns both
