The letter was written March 26, 1935 from Duesenberg Service Manager F.W. Gray. He, too, told the car's owner that the serial number wasn't correct. In any event, the owner of that particular Model A Duesenberg at the time was
Mr. Joseph W. Dow
National Recovery Administration
Regional Office No. 1
80 Federal St., Room 635
Boston Mass.

NOS fenders for $7.

Randy, I'll e-mail a copy of the parts list and letter to you.

Thanks, Randy. When I receive the letter, I'll update you with who owned the car in 1935. Also with the letter is a price list of all Duesenberg Model A parts available at the time. Are you interested in seeing that, or do you have one?

West, for what's it worth, I don't have any record of a car with that engine number existing. I agree that the chassis number is wonky. Looking forward to hearing more.

Once I receive a copy of the letter, I'll double check the chassis number.
Thanks for the info.

An AACA member is sending me a letter from the Duesenberg company that was in reply to an owner requesting information about parts for his Model A Duesenberg.
The chassis number of the car was given as 2632, and the engine number was given as 1632.

1. Is it known if this car still exists?
2. Were chassis and engine numbers of the Model A usually that similar?
