No,I don't remember the name of that movie. I think I tuned into it on our old movie channel but didn't get to watch all of it. Anyway,it was a long time ago.

Hello Bob,
do you remember what the name of that movie with the "Clair-Trevor-Duesenberg-Accident-Scene" was?

It was in an old ACD NewsLetter maybe in the late 1980's or early 90's. I have never seen the movie called "Midnight". I did see J198 at Auburn years ago restores as a speedster and it looked good.

Hello Bob,
yes there exists a photo (made on a movie-set) of J-198 (with a CC-Body) "kissing" a tree. On that photo stands the actress Clair Trevor beside the car, but I don't know for what movie that photo was taken.
you will find the pic on the pages 70/71 in the book "automobile quarterly, Vol. 30, No. 4, summer 1992
Cheers
Matt

I was watching the 1939 film "Midnight" with Don Ameche, John Barrymore, etc. A Duesenberg roadster pulls up to the mansion. It kind of looked like an SJN, but then, it also seemed not to be. Sorry, but I have no photos. It sported what looked like 17-inch wheels with covers. The hood went all the way back to the windshield and had screens and sidepipes, the doors were hinged in the front, windwings that hinged and swung out with the doors.
Is this car known to exist? What is it?
Thanks.
