Replied by Bob Roller on topic heaters for the "J"
I know that at one time J357 had a heater mounted on the back of the firewall and of course on the passengers side. It had the trade name of "Hades"on it and in that little cockpit area with the top up it was warm.
J540,one of my favorites had both a firewall heater and a register in the back floor that could be opened to allow the rear seat passengers to stay warm. I do not know what these cars have in them now.

Any one with a photograph? I thought that I had a photo of a J being restored and in the photo was a fan and motor on the firewall side (passengers)?? Also the ebay listings have a few older style heaters on auction listed with the duesenberg parts, would this be a proper fit? Thanks for any help.

Sorry, I'm useless on technical questions. Good luck.
I [u:vgtu10ni]think[/u:vgtu10ni] J-540 / 2557 and J-553 / 2582 both had floor heaters. There are undoubtedly others.

Randy or Chris will give you a better answer but I don't know that I have ever seen a Duesenberg with a heater. I'm sure some of the later cars must have had one but I've never seen one in person.

What type-brand of heater core does a model J use? Was a heater a standard part for the J? Option? Where is it located on the interior and where on the firewall? Thanks for any answer
