Kelly,
I have no idea about the owner of that "J", What I was referring to (I think) was something I read in Elbert's first edition on the Duesenberg. I will review it and see.
I have had that book for over 60 years and look at it once in a great while.

Bob,

And where was the owner of that J, passed out on the floor from a heart attack or wedged between the elevator doors and his beloved car? That is one scary story but thanks for the advice.

Cargirl,
If need be,the car can be sorthened a bit y removing the bumpers as was supposedly done when a freight elevator almost did NOT get a "J" taken to a display at a car show on the 2nd floor of a hotel.

Yes Matt - it is this car:

s229.photobucket.com/albums/ee20 ... rg%20J219/

And contrary to a small note I saw in one of your earlier postings there is no black hole at all with J219's history. It is a fully documented car with a very nice history. It was at a dealer sometime ago but I have been working exclusively with the owner for over a year and a half and am happy to report that after all of that time we were finally able to come to a very reasonable selling price. Few more things to work out but it does look like this beauty is finally coming home!

Leo Gephardt was kind enough to tell me that we will need a container at least 17 feet long and 8 feet high to ship this treasure.

Thanks for your response.

Best,

Kelly

Hello Cargirl,

the lenght of Model Js are different because of wheelbase and Body-Style. So there is that editional information needed for the experts.

I guess the car you will ship is this one <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: --> forums.phpstack-1081784-3880776.cloudwaysapps.com/phpbb2/viewto ... 71fc8e361e

If I am right it is a Murphy CC (Standard Top) on the short wheelbase.

Is the car now sold back to the USA?

Cheers

Matt
