One of my favorite cars in the whole world is hitting the auction block, J345. Murphy CC disapearing top, factory supercharger added, 8 port external exhaust, amazing restoration (40,000 hours claimed)

Monterey
16 - 17 August 2013

I'll guess 3.1 mil.

40.000 hours??? That would be 4.5 years if you worked 24/7... no lunch breaks.

Maybe 1000 people worked 40 hours each.

It would look better without the whitewalls. I believe this is the same car that Richie Clyne and Don Williams sold at Hershey circa 2003/2004 or so?

It was a nice car. If that is a factory blower someone should reunite it with the limo a few posts back and swap in the reproduction. Of course I'm not sure of the overall financial wisdom of that plan since I'm not suggesting I should do it :).

If when started, main bearing rumble is heard and the oil pressure is low, then it needs a rebuild although the oil pressure is externally adjustable on these engines.Turn the crankshaft with the crank and watch the cams. Both cams should move immediately with the crankshaft. If they don't,the timing chains may be worn beyond the ability of the tensioner to keep them tight.

Hello,

does anybody knows the auction-results of the Duesenberg-cars offered @ the Pebble Beach/Monterey auctions (Gooding, RM and Mecum)?

Thanks!
