This was the first "J" I ever had contact with along with J467 both on the same day in June of 1951.I wonder how many times it sold since then.
Raydon R."Don"Thompson owned it when I first saw it and it was being
revived, not restored. We drove it as a king size hot rod with no body on
the frame like Leno does now. That LeBaron body didn't add much weight to the car and it was fast even after we reinstalled it. Don sold it to a man in Maryland and I think his name was Blash. It was also the first one I used a wrench on when I installed the intake manifold. Sixty four years have gone by since that warm summer day and the random encounter with one of the premier cars of the world. A long and interesting run.

Hello,

it looks like that J514/2543 SJ Rollston @Gooding was not sold. Does anyone knows the highest bid on that car?

RM pubished a selling price about $ 1.155 Million for the LeBaron DCP

It seems there have been very few Murphy Convertible coupes at auction in the last 1 - 2 years, but now 2 Murphy CC's are being offered.

J-147, chassis 2168 is being auctioned by Auctions American at the Auburn sale. This car has a memorable place in my history, as it is the 1st Duesenberg I ever drove when it was for sale in 2006. I strongly considered buying J147, but ended up passing on it. Back then it was black and in need of restoration. Now it is silver and apparently has been fully restored. A very handsome car in my humble opinion.

Also I saw a recent ad that J192, the unrestored survivor Katherine Hedburn car is being offered this fall, but I can't find the auction info now.
