Call GLENN PRAY in Broken Arrow, OK. He may have some parts and repro parts left over from his dual cowl Duesenberg replica project.

His was a very good replica.

At one point there was a clone here in Florida that was partially finished. The gentleman building it suddenly died. His wife had the project for sale and I looked at it. It was a dual cowl open car and he used a 6 cylinder for power. I don't know if it istill there or not . I could check if you are interested.

If you are not building them for sale, I think you will be fine.

Maybe just don't put a name plate on it. That would be superlative anyway. <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

What are you using for power?

Thanks s for the input guys! Dont expect too much. Actually we are only buliding this for rental purposes. were not aiming for a carbon copy of the actual model :)

Here's what we've done so far. An aluminum skeleon frame was made first so we dont have to adjust later if the body isnt proportional to the original model.

Started with front grille made of scrap metals and sainless steel:

Thats it for now. :)

Be cautious using the name. The people who own the trademark now build their own replica, the Duesenberg II. If they are anything like the fellow who owned the Packard name, they have lawyers on speed-dial.

That said, if you're doing one for yourself and only yourself, good luck on the project. And yes, we Club members are supportive of replicas as long as they don't claim to be the real thing! See you in Auburn in a few years.

Hi, we are planning to create a replica of a 1934 Duesenberg Model J. I am wondering about the legalities of creating such replica?? Dont want to get in trouble for making one.

If Im safe. I'll post pictures of the progress . :)
