Today we went on the largest incline railroad in the world. 1 Mile straight up. Here are a couple pictures looking down from the top of Lookout mountain.
Our opening banquet was tonight. There is a picture of the neon sign at the host hotel.

It was another hot humid day, but somewhat cooler at the top of the mountain.

After our tour of lookout mountain we returned to the Choo Choo for registration, the opening banquet, and pickup of our instructions.

Thought this sign was interesting.
Today we went to Rock City. There are many paths through the rocks. There was a city of Gnomes, fairy land and mother goose cities, a rope bridge, lover?s leap where you a view 7 states at one spot, high falls and areas where you can squeeze through the rocks. It was amazing! We have been there before, however it was worth seeing again.
After Rock City we went on a boat tour of the Tennessee River and had lunch.
We visited ?Kayo? Erwins Automobile collection and met Mr. Erwin ,who was a survivor of the USS Indianapolis
Then we toured Corky Coker?s auto collection. The picture shows some of the rims that were made in their shop. WOW!

Today we went to the town of Chickamauga. There were several men dressed as Civil war soldiers. The streets were lined with old cars and there was a beautiful old mansion that we toured. Inside town was millinery with a shop full of gorgeous hats. One of her hats won a contest at the Kentucky derby this year. The weather is very warm and humid.

In the afternoon we divided into groups. Our group went to the Chickamauga Battlefield museum information center where a huge civil war gun collection is housed. We watched a film, then toured the battlefield areas. After our tour of the battlefields, we returned to a mill where there was a reenactment of a civil war encounter. They gave a demonstration of the muskets loading and firing.

Tonight there was a pizza party for our chapter group. It was great, well planned,
And nice to see everyone again.

We love touring; wish the ACD club had a national tour. A group from the ACD club is on this tour and we are having lots of fun.

This morning we drove a scenic drive up Raccoon mountain, to see TVA?s largest hydroelectric facility. As you can see in the picture, we were driving above the clouds. From there we continued to a steam train ride , where we learned about the great train race; lunch was at a local church.

After lunch we drove to Harold & Lill Coker?s car collection and finally to the International Towing Museum. Everything was spectacular.
