Is it the three bolts through the frame that is wire tied that holds the steering box? Are they slotted or how do they move? I assume they might not need to be slotted because it will be a very small movement at the box, correct?

Yes, the steering box needs to be loosened if you change the height. Retighten after you finish your adjustment.

Has anyone tried on their L29 to adjust the steering wheel height?
I see how to move the column up and down under the dash but does the steering box need to be loosened or adjusted?
