Notice the tires are not double sided whitewalls - unless this from the colorization process.

Curt the colouring process can be difficult to deal with giving mixed results. Some pictures respond perfectly while others look terrible. Attached are two examples which show the difference.
Incredible we were able to zoom in on the first picture to see the face of the man standing at the LHS of the picture. In the Timeless Classic Josh said he was Arthur Landis however it was another executive.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Do you know when in 1934 this photo was taken? The photo says they were all headed for California which is where my Auburn came from. Nice to think my car may be in there somewhere.

The picture shows the leaded seams on a Hupmobile/Cord and the drawing shows a parts section of the roof.

The 1934 Auburns are arranged in lines and rows behind the factory buildings on West 18th St, Connersville.
All of the cars at the heads of the lines have the plate M-195, I am "assuming" that the other cars behind them are also fitted with the same plate.
Consequently there would have been around 35 cars with the same plate. If other plates were in use surely they would have showed up. I doubt the guys setting up the cars for the picture would have worried about the plates, considering they were probably all the same.

My picture was taken in Main St, Hamilton, Ontario in 1939. The lady Trudie Weaver was 24 at the time and she is still going at 104 plus. We visited her in 2018. She had no connection with the car , it belonged to the next door neighbour. I said to her, "You looked a bit apprehensive in the picture". She replied "Yes, the owner Mr Merrill didn't like people getting too close to his car!" It is astonishing what memories and feelings can come to life again. She had just bought a new coat. He brother took the picture, went to war and was killed in action.

The first is the earliest picture I have of the Actonite Cord. It was taken in Worcester MA, in around mid 1936. It shows the original owner's wife CORDelia Mason with 810 - 1586 A in the background.
Not sure where the second picture was taken but it must have been late 1936. It shows the original owner Amos Mason with "my wonderful car."

Terry Cockerell wrote: Great set of period pictures John. The sedan and phaeton appear to have the same number plate.
Terry, that plate should show up often - I believe it would be a uniform manufacturer plate or perhaps one of a couple of sets of numbers as a manufacturer assigned to them by the State of Indiana.

Attached are copies of a picture that was recently donated to the Connersville Museum. The picture was originally taken in
Connersville outside the First Methodists Church on North Central Avenue. The church is still there and has not changed. The extra hood vents are apparently from a 1936 Hupmobile.
Note painted on the door of the Cord it says "25th AAA 500 Mile Race" which was held in 1937.
The last picture comes from page 121 of the Timeless Classic, note the sign says"24th AAA 500 Mile Race" which was held in 1936.
