Hi Gary, I bought it as well as other brake parts from a clutch and brake specialist repair shop.
One other point, in my last posting in the second picture you can see the brace between the pivot shaft and the master cylinder. This had been out of adjustment for many years as a deep groove had been worn in the end of the shaft. To compliment a new shaft I made a new brace with a bush. This needs to be carefully fitted so that the shaft is not pre-loaded. It also needs to be painted.

Good pics Terry. Where did you purchase the master cylinder rod rubber bellows?

The reference point on the main arm in the pictures is the lug where the return spring attaches. This faces the firewall. It can be clearly seen in Pete Kelly's first and second pictures.
Now check my pictures taken while dismantling the car and this morning.
I placed some white paper towel behind the arm so the the lug which is also facing the firewall can clearly be seen.
As previously mentioned it had been that way and probably since day one.

It looks like the arm the brake pedal attaches too needs to be turned around.
Pedal should now line up better as well.

John I would have liked to agree with you but the parts were assembled correctly. They can only go together one way.

Do not hate me for saying this as I commend your fix, but I think someone has the Pedal arrangement assembled improperly.

Terry this is an interesting observation and fix. Am impressed. Something I surely will be watching for when I reach this part.

Master Cylinder Push Rod Alignment was created by Terry Cockerell
While I had the car on the road I had suspected that the master cylinder push rod was out of alignment as there was a leak but it was difficult to check while under the car. During the car's first ever complete restoration I was stunned to discover the push rod was out of alignment by 1/4" It had obviously been this was since it left the Factory. I could have moved the master cylinder out from the chassis with packers but decided to modify the push rod clevis. I have also found some other Factory faults as the cars were rushed into production but will leave them for another day. The master cylinder shouldn't leak this time.
