The "arm chair" leather upholstery in these pics was an option I believe. There was also another leather pattern - see Jack & Diane's restored Westchester in the Pictures gallery. Broadcloth versions were also an option. There are some good drawings in Josh Malks book of the upholstery options.
My car was one of around 35 Westchesters originally manufactured with pleated leather as far as I know.

I think the Beverly looks sharp, but I prefer the simplicity of the Westchester. But I also think the supercharger pipes destroy the looks of the Cord, and I know many would disagree with me. If the cloth Westchester interior is just too plain Jane for you, I believe the factory did offer a jazzier partially pleated leather Westchester version for extra money.

That's one beautiful original interior for which it would be worth walking in the muddy street.
But, since I have an 810 Westchester with no remaining interior, I'd like to see photos of an original Westchester interior, if any exist.
Stan Gillaland has some diagrams of the door pockets, but there's nothing like photos to get the whole effect.
On my sedan, which may have been Ganges green originally, I have a tattered front seat cushion that appears to have a strip of contrasting
green leather or leatherette around the bottom. I don't have any descriptions of this in the literature, so don't know what to think.

Hi Kevin,

the beverlys definitley have more style

Yes, the Beverly is much more "luxurious" than the Westchester.

I wonder why the '36 Beverly didn't sell very well. They are very, very rare. The only thing I can think of is that it must have been customary to enter the car from the curb side. With the Beverly, the driver had to walk out into the muddy street and/or get splashed by cars passing by.

Maybe the factory didn't promote this interior very well, either. It took a lot more work at the factory to produce these seats.

Most all Cord owners know what the Westchester interior looks like, but many have never ever seen the inside of a '36 Beverly, let alone one that still has its original upholstery.

Here's what the front seat of a '36 Beverly looks like:

Here's what the back seat of a '36 Beverly looks like:

Unlike the '37 Beverly, the '36 has fixed armrests instead of fold-down armrests.

And, of course, the '36 doesn't have that awful "fat butt":

Are there any interior photos on the site that clearly shows the difference between the Beverly and Westchesters.

Regards

Kevin
