Stan Gilliland can tell you more. Replicas were made years ago. The photo of the replica and the original was taken in his shop in Wellington, Kansas.

I had the good fortune to play with one of the Bronze Cords for about 5 months. Here I am before a video shoot holding one of the Bronze cords.

While the base on mine looks more like the "fake", the car on mine looks exactly like the real one right down to the silver wheels. When was the fake on made and who made it? I'd like to post some of the great pics I took of mine here but I can't seem to. How can I post a pic in my post?

I have one of these models. It was sent to my grandfather for Christmas
while he was waiting for his '36 Cord Convertible. This one is a bronze
sedan mounted on what appears to be granite. As I remember, he said he paid $6500.00 for the car and then sold it in '42 when he was drafted into
the Navy for $4500.00. Since the car is long gone, this one is definitely for sale.

Molds from the original Brass models???? Now, that's an interesting thought. I wonder how much the mold would cost to make???? May have to check into that. There are actually several CORD sedan models out there other then the Hot Wheels version. Watch E-bay and you will find some become available from time to time. I just bought my dad a little bigger then Hot Wheels size pewter Danbury Mint Supercharged Sedan that I'd never seen before from England off E-bay for Christmas. Hard not to keep it for myself. It would be nice if companies like Ertl and Signature who have made the recent 1/18th scale Cabriolets and Phaetons would make a Sedan. I understand that you can go to these companies websites and suggest different models you would like to see made. Maybe, if enough of us did that, they would make a Sedan. There is a company in South Africa that makes Resin Cast Sedan Bodies mentioned elsewhere on this website. It would be nice if we started to make a list of all the Cord Models that have been made over the years, diecast and plastic, similar to the lists Josh has on his website of movies and magazines with Cord articles in them.

I'd go for that

I have been looking and I can't find any models of the sedan version of the 810 except in a Hot Wheels

I have a Framklin Mint Phaeton but a replica of the original models would be cool.

Regards

Kevin

We ought to see if we can get a mold of one so we can make replicas. I bet they would sell like hot cakes. (For a while at least ... )

We happened to met wit the son of the local CORD dealer here last Monday. I believe he said that the family still has two of them. I doubt they can be bought though.

Actually they were bronze on onyx.

Occasionally they change hands. Last one I heard of went for $10,000. :-)

Cord Brass Models for New Car Orders was created by Kevin_Reed
Has anyone heard if any of the Cord models are still around. Josh mentioned them in his book. They were given out to customers who ordered cars and were made of Brass and bolted to a piece of granite

I was just wondering if they have become a collectors item or could still be found

Regards

Kevin
