I had a look at Wyandotte, Michigan in Google. The factory used scrap metal from the auto industry to stamp the toy parts to keep the cost down however no list of auto company suppliers was made.

they were made in wyandotte michigan in the 1930's. wyandotte toy company made many many types of pressed steel toys. if your looking for one they show up on ebay regularly. some have drive motors some do not. there are quite a few color variations. yellow with a red top being the most common. prices have fallen from a few years back. $300-ish is a decent deal. there is a pull behind teardrop trailer from the same company that looks great with the cord car.
