Curt I have not seen a startix with a serial number either.What years was this in the picture? I realize the startix came on more than just ACD cars. Seems there is a long list of cars that used this.Can you pm me what you do in restoring n rebuilding these units?

Thanks Curt.I have seen the black wrinkle finish. I had a nos one I sold to someone in Brasil about 8 years ago for $450.00. He kept asking me when it was to arrive. Sadly my tracking number stops when it was loaded on the plane. It was in customs I learned. Took 3 months for it to arrive. Never have I seen a red tag but always looking...

I rebuild Startix. I have seen a lot of them with cad over copper and wrinkle black over copper. It was Bendix Corp. attempt to thwart rust. Ever see one with a red tag ?

As I'm cleaning up my original Startix I notice the copper color.I continued cleaning and finally used a magnet.Sure nuff its metal but what is the copper color? Anyone have a comment?
