Jim, looks like you are correct. I spoke with Fay Culberth this afternoon about 1130A. He couldn't remember much about the car. He thinks he bought somewhere in Florida. A real "rust bucket" missing much of it's drive train. The piece of firewall and the two plates are probably the only identifiable part of the car that survive. i have a 810/12 dash insert that has part of the engine turning worn off having on a wall. Guess I'll hang what's left of 1130A net to it.

What Tim was saying is that the original engine was FB1780 but in 1973 someone reported the car had engine FB 283 in it.

Also this is a 1936 Cord that was renumbered.

I doubt this Cord is still with us, but probably parts of it are in other Cords.

Tim, this makes perfect sense since this plate was in with a whole lot of stuff I got from Fay. Gary, I'll give Fay a call and see if I can get the whole story. I know he restored a couple of cars. Maybe this was a donor.

Tim are you saying this plate is not the original plate from the factory because of the engine number change? Its a shame a wrecker burned this off instead of saving more of the cowl. I hope the car is still with us too.

According to Ron Irwin’s files, this car belonged to Dr. Fay Culbertson in 1973. The serial number and body number plates agree with your photos, but Ron has the present engine as FB 283. Obviously a lot has happened since 1973!

Hi, I recently acquired a bunch of "treasure". Amongst everything I found this builder's plate for 812-1130A. It is listed in Josh's box but as you can see there is no car attached to the surgically remove piece of the cowl. Anybody have an idea where this car is or if it even still exits?
