Wyn, I just found a Cord gas cap in a box of parts. It doesn't have the chain and keeper, but it's a good start. Call me if you like. 406 842 7655

I am in the middle of completely restoring my Westchester which has been off the road or over four years now. The guys who did the body repairs had NO sense of urgency and did the work as a fill in job which took over three years. A lot of other factors have come into play such as a new set of pistons with the gudgeon pin holes 1/4" lower than where they should have been. The point is that I still have a long way to go so I don't want to be sidetracked making parts for others at present as it did not work out in the past.
Maybe in the future I will again look into making small parts for sale?????????

If you find to make up a few, please let me know. I could use two of them! I received the sash chain from Kilian Hardware yesterday. Looks very nice. Thanks for that tip.

I was just looking at my brand new modern gas cap with authentic chain and clips and figured I could machine up a cap to look like the original complete with the sheet metal wing nut type top and fit it to the modern cap internals. One minor problem is that there is so much else to do. One job at a time.

The chain is miniature Sash Chain Size 12 . You will need 6" in length.
The chain can be supplied in nickel or stainless steel
The supplier is
Wm A Kilian Hardware Co, Philadelphia PA
Email [email protected]
As for the clips the overall length is 1 1/8" and the wire is 0.045" diameter.
Just bend it up like in the picture.
As for the cap you may have to fabricate one to look like the original.

I already checked with both Stan and Doug. Nothing available from them anymore.

Give Doug Pray a call for the chain and clip. Stan sold this exact gas cap some years back. I purchased mine from him. Both Stan and Doug may have everything you need in the pic too.
