My 812's radio is missing the Cord Medallion on the front of the speaker.
Do any of you gents have an idea where I can buy one?
Reproduction or an original are welcome.

Attached is a picture of the material I had submitted to Rick Hulett for comment. Rick commented that is was pretty close to what the original grill cloth looked like in sedans. It was definitely a plain material with no pattern.

I cannot locate any similar cloth, could it have been clothing fabric with Auburns budget? Here is a radio restoration link, similar to 6v vehicles so there it not so much shock hazard. I like the idea of saving and reusing capacitor hulls.

Wyn there is a large variety of vintage radio grill cloths out there but nothing identical to yours. That is why I settled for the gold cloth ................ which is kinda similar to the faded original cloth in Rick Hulett's picture.
It is a case of near enough has to be good enough.

Unfortunately speaker cloth is not available anywhere. The cloth in the one radio I had looked good, but actually when I took everything apart it sort of disintegrated.

Just a pic of a Philco Cord radio to confirm the color and pattern of the speaker cloth.
Wyn; where did you find the new cloth?

Thanks Wyn it is interesting material.
Rick Hulett sent me a picture of the original cloth in an early unrestored green Westchester. I spent a lot of time looking for something suitable and found some gold cloth which I ended up using.
I sent a sample of the material to Rick for comment he replied that the shiny side was a bit too bright however the reverse side was a lot closer to the mark. I am yet to turn the material around but will soon.

Thanks Gray, unfortunately your speaker cloth has dissolved. I can help you out with information on the various cables as I recently put mine together from various sources.
Together we can look for grill material.
Hopefully somebody out there will have used the correct material and will be able to share it with us.

Gary how about rediscovering your speaker and seeing what grill cloth there is if any?
For all we know it could have a good example of what I am looking for.
Can you have a look at your speaker?
Thanks,
Terry

Sorry Terry I have not begone this type of search but sure will be watching this post. I'm betting I too will need this cloth. My speaker was removed about 44 years ago and stored safely up high wrapped up. I know I have extra knobs for it but not sure where.Funny how you "find things" when not looking for them..

Radio Speaker Grill Cloth was created by Terry Cockerell
I am trying to find a supplier of suitable radio speaker grill cloth for my early production 810 Cord sedan. I have spent a lot of time looking at Google Images without much luck.
Any leads would be appreciated.
