Thanks for the photo, 1748S. If anyone has a complete photo of the Bendix rear brake system, that would be especially appreciated.

You may want to check with other people about modern linings. If they are used on L-29 they will squall something offal.

This is what I have available. I had both front side brakes relined with non asbestos non riveted lining by a shop in Long Beach Ca. named Friction Lining. They have been around for about 60 years. They also refaced my clutch disc and rebuilt my pressure plate. Am very happy with the work.

Could someone post photos of the front and rear Bendix brake assemblies, showing correct springs, shoes, and cylinders?

Also, I understand that the correct Bendix brake shoes were #263, which is also what I have seen. But when did this change place? The last engineering note I can find on brake shoes is dated 12/31/36 and says "Changing all brake shoes on Bendix. Raybestos #451 Front or Primary Shoes. U.S. Asbestos #589F on rear or Secondary Shoes." #451 and #589 don't look anything like #263, so there must have been a later change. Anyone know when this happened?
