Those pix are an 'artist's rendition' I don't believe they are actual pictures of an engine.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

I was looking at the engine pics in the Cord Automobiles book by Jon Bills. On page 81 is the pic of a non supercharged engine. I noticed the block appears to be a different color than the transmission. Am I missing something?
Then on page 111 is a pic of the supercharged engine. First thing I noticed is the exhaust manifolds are not what we usually see today. Then the generator appears to have the top mounted voltage regulator. Finally I see the carb is black. These are items I never see on any supercharged cars or engines. I have seen many engines. So was this ONLY a show model engine and made to look better than what came off the line??/ I suppose this is more a question for the judging team. Hopefully everyone does not think I'm being critical about colors. I'm just interested in why "things" are as they appear.
