The headlight doors look great. I had a hard time adjusting them so they opened and closed without interfering with the wing.

Nice work on that wing.
Those wheel opening patches are tricky to get right.
I find that rounding off the corners on patch panels minimizes warpage.

Yes the car was fitted with a supercharged fence by previous owner, I do not have the standard fence so I'll leave it with the supercharged fence and exterior pipes but without supercharger on my engine.

I see that someone was in the process of putting S/C pipes on your Cord before you bought it. It doesn't look like it had been completed? Were you going to? The engine block is an FB which isn't set up for a supercharger. There was an article in the ACD Newsletter years ago as to how to modify a FB block to take a supercharger. Given the value of these cars lately don't think I would supercharge it if it didn't come from the factory that way.
You are doing a great job on the restoration. I look forward to seeing what you have accomplished each time I get on my computer.

Dr John Baeke has show quality heads in his listings. They are $2800.00 US dollars for two heads. They have better cooling capacity than original heads. His email is JBaeke@ParkPlaceUSA
The price includes sales tax so the pair of heads costs $2580.00. The tax takes the cost to the @2800.00 amount.

I bought mine about 6 years ago from Jim Higman who lived in Park City, Utah. At that time he owned a S/C 812 Cabriolet and had been a club member for a long time. I don't see him listed as an ACD member in the latest Directory. He was in the cylinder heads business with another fellow who lived in Los Angles area. My heads were shipped from that area. I believe Jim told me that they has sold off the last of their stock. I have seen them listed for sale in recent Newsletters by several sellars. I bought a set a few years ago but not at the recent price nor from the listed seller. I would suggest that you check with all the sellers and see if they will give you a better price.
My heads are great. I have had no trouble with them. While you have the engine available I would clean up the intake and exhaust ports by grinding off bumps and smoothing out all the ports. You can also match the manifolds to the block to make a smoother transition. This is called porting here in the USA and can make a better running engine which I believe mine is.

Tig welding on corroded aluminium is funny,yes <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? --> very hard to do a beautifull welding and aluminium welding is not my speciality.
I still have a lot of work to adjust the headlights cover.

WoW, you have a lot of patching up to do on those front wings!
Tig welding old corroded Aluminium is fun right? ;)
Be sure to get those headlight openings spot on and checked with covers working. It will save you a lot of swearing when the car comes together.

You could also fill in the hollows in the two mounting blocks that the bumper mount to so there would be a solid connection between everything. I guess lead would be the thing to use to fill the hollow. This approach has been covered in past Newsletters.

There have been several improvement for the attachment of the fender at the bumper bar bracket in past issues of the Newsletter. These modifications are to better support the heavy fenders which needs all the help they can get. Which one, if any , do you plan on using?

I see you are using a bolt and nut to mount the bumper bar. I'm sure this is a temporary situation as I imagine you know the bumper bar was held on by 3 1/4&quot; long, 9/16&quot;cap screws having 12 threads per inch. Congratulation, you are doing a beautiful job.

On the black pieces it's not a power coated,just rust primer and polyurethane satin black paint &quot;Dupont Topcoat&quot;
On the engine,re-bore +0,60,new valves ,all the crankshaft on news shells and new camshaft bearings

Your parts look amazing. Fine finish on the cad plating and it appears the black pieces are powder coated. Everything looks new. What are you doing to the engine? Bore, new pistons and re Babbitt the bearings?

It may have been wise to have the battery box top too think (if that was your thought) if it will still work in relation to the seat (most modern batteries seem taller than what was originally in an Auburn or Cord). And, too low a box looks awkward when walking up to a car.

RubyDS: Regarding the battery box cover, I will try go to my car tonight to document the dimensions for you. There is, however, at least one more dimension you'll want. You can see it on the bottom edge immediately to the right of the left-most bottom screw hole - a slight, flat rise about 1-1/2" long. It must be for a flat, braided grounding wire. Perhaps you will want to add two dimensions to capture the measurement, one before and one after the rise?

Meanwhile, please re-post your picture with these "arrows" and also label each arrow as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 (and 7?). Then I will provide you the measurements for each labeled arrow.

I hope this will help you.
