I need help! The web site confuses me, I have pictures to post, how do I send them, I do not even see how to email them to the site.

Thanks

I'm forced to comment on my friend Pat Leahy's statements about sedans being cannibalized for parts for open cars. I trust everyone understands that he is merely stating a fact, not &lt;i&gt;encouraging&lt;/i&gt; such atrocities! <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->

I really don't think that I have the patience as well as the $$ to take on this project. What really has my interest is that what is there is so complete and does not need to be restored! The interior is very, very nice, the top is I would say perfect, all the windows are nice and work well, the dash, instruments, steering wheel is nice, the windshield and metal does not need restoring. The paint is white and very, good, it looks as if the owner was in the process of restoring the car, took the front end off as well as the runniong gear to have the running gear rebuilt and then lost interest or ran out of money. I stated that I can send pictures or maybe even post pictures, if I can figure out how to do it. I would like to sell the car if I happen to be high bidder. I think that the final bid price will be $10,000 / $12,000.

Thank you for the information I sincerely appreciate you input.

Having bought a sedan body shell (much less than your bidding on), I can tell you that the drive train including engine, transmission, CV's,etc. are available but can run anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000.00. The front fenders are another issue and these will run from $300.00 to $3,000 a piece depending on quality. Fortunately the front half of the cars are the same (except for Customs), and sedan cars have been many donors for convertibles. There have been [u:24vopwd8]complete[/u:24vopwd8] phaetons for sale in the recent past for $30,000 to $45,000.00 needing restoration. A complete and restored phaeton is worth $100,000 + if you can find a buyer. You didn't mention whether your are buying this to keep, or to resell at a later date? Good luck with your bid....

Andy,

Obviously the car is worth as much as anyone would be willing to pay. If the car is complete from the firewall back (you did not mention if the car is on four wheels) and for the most part restored, a fair price would be between $30-40K. Essentially, you are only paying for a half of a car. The parts that are missing maybe a little difficult to find but the bottom line is that they are available. Using this website and the N/L you should be able to find everything required to get the car on the road. In the end, the price that you pay for what now exist will ultimately drive your decision to buy or not buy. If I can be of further assistance let me know.

I am bidding on a 1937 Cord 2dr Phaeton. It is in a bankrupcy. It is basically complete from the firewall back, body is excellent, nice black interior, complete dash, windshield, newer hartz cloth top, rear bumper, tailites, rear wheels. Parts missing are, everything from the firewall forward with the exception of some of the front suspension.

My dilema! what is it worth, how much is it worth, is anyone interested? I know this is hard to pinpoint, I will be able to send pics by email by the weekend. I believe that it is just too much for me to handle.

Andy Pazz
