Trunk Latches

There again - it pre-supposes that anyone with a CORD would never be lonely...

One theory is that this was enforced chivalry. The driver HAD to let the lady in first; then she could unlock his door from the inside.

This strange arrangement contributed to the demise of your armchair Beverly style. The lone driver had to unlock the right door, crawl across and reach over the armrest to unlock the inside door handle on the driver's side, then back out and come around.

'Course, it would ave been easier to keep that interior and add a driver's door lock. . .

How odd...

This is worth a study in pictures, to say the least. I wonder why it was?

Trunk latches are the same on all Cords. The right side has a lock with a swivel hinged cover on it. The left side has a flat area, no lock. The driver's door does NOT have a lock. Passenger side only.

Dunno - mine has a pair of latches that make the term "Trunk Latch" seem like a pun. They look like they came off of a steamer trunk...
