Understanding the Selection Switch

Most of of you have seen my posts on a 2 year ordeal to straighten out some issues with my dad's 812 shifting system.  I got a lot of help from fellow club members and would have pushed the car over a cliff without it.

If you have owned a Cord for along time and have spent lots of time on the shifting system it eventually starts to make sense.  But the first time you look at it you see the underside of the Space Shuttle dashboard. 

One of the things that really helped me was this diagram of the selection switch done by our friend Terry Cockerell.  With his permission I'm posting this here in hopes it helps out some other poor guy.   Maybe it can be included in the next revision of the transmission book or in a tech article?

Also attached is a test procedure that Terry came up with.  Really great stuff.
