Due to the cost of shipping, it would be helpful to know where you are located.

So I was able to buy this car. The good news is that it has 36,000 original miles, and has the original engine . The car has been badly repainted once.
The bad news is that the trunk lid, front fenders, hood and grille were removed 40 years or so ago and have been lost to time, so I will be in the hunt to find these body panels for a 36 westchester.
If anyone out there has parts or a parts car and are willing to pass on a body panel I need, please let me know.

Thanks for the reply Mike!
This is an interesting car.

1205A was the first Cord delivered to O'Donnell Mackie in Toronto, Ontario. Originally maroon, the O'Donnell Mackie sales ledger does not list the name or date of the first owner. I believe that this is the car shown in the photo of the Toronto auto show at exhibition stadium (although there is no proof of that). Ron's records are correct, it had engine number FB340, when newly delivered.

No major changes that I know of. The first 100 cars were the “ hand builts.”
1937 cars had some notable changes, though.

Thanks for the info Tim.
Is there anything particularly different about an early 1936 car to a later car?

Hi Todd: This is a “known” Cord according to Ron Irwin’s ( the Cord historian) records. His info goes back to 1954 when a C. Stevenson from Canada owned it. At that time, it had engine # FB 340. This is also a very early production car; possibly number 101 off the line.
I hope this helps.
CORDially, Tim.

I am hoping perhaps someone on here can give me some information on a 1936 Cord I am looking at potentially buying that has been off the road for 40 years or so.
The serial number of the car is 1205 A.
Is there a way to find out what the details of the car should be from that serial number?

Cheers, Todd
