Thanks Jim.
The area where the gasket in question Item No 35 is located is not distorted.
I thought it was strange to have two different thickness gaskets for the location.
I used the thinner one.
I am not game to try straightening the float bowel cover that is why I made and fitted the sheet metal cover which applies some pressure in the corners.

Hi Terry,
Spring #9 is not on the EE-15 Carb.
On the gasket - not knowing how thick each gasket is, I can't say. I would think the thin one would work well as long as teh housing isn't warped to badly. Warpage is a common problem(almost every one is warped) due to the material and the screw placement along with the heat they see. If the warpage is severe you can heat the cover and bend it back however BE CAREFULL!!!! there are only a few degrees difference between being able to bend it back and a molten pile of metal. If it is not warped to badly then use a flat surface and sand it flat.

Gary thanks for the comment on the spring. I do not believe the thickness of the throttle body gasket Ref No 35 has anything to do with warpage. I sent Dayton Parts Co a request for more information but have not had a reply and probably will never receive one.
The float bowel cover should have had an extra screw to hold it down. The corners warp with the middle screw being over tightened. I made up a cover plate that looks like part of the original carburetor which applies a small amount of pressure to the corners. I will add a picture later today.

Good questions Terry. I have never seen the spring you mentioned on any Cord EE15 carburetors. As for the thicker or thinner gaskets, I suspect it has something to do with warpage. I recall you and I discussing the cover gasket for the float bowl. We both needed to sand our covers flat to keep fuel from leaking. No idea why this cover warps but it has.

I am not sure if my carburetor is missing a spring or not?
Attached is a reproduction parts list for the Stromberg EE-1 carburetor from the Dayton Parts Co.
The item in question is Ref No 9 .................... Spring, Accelerator Pump Lever.
I sent a request to the Dayton Parts Co but have not received a reply.
The question is "Should this spring be fitted to the EE15 carburetor ?
Where can I get a replacement spring ???????????

Another question, in the Dayton repair kit there were two gaskets Ref No 35.
One being a lot thicker than the other which gasket should be used, the thick one or the thin one??????
