Hey Terry, Yes I received your email. Many thanx! And sheepishly, yes. Right now the car runs only on the electric pump.

Bill as a side issue, does she run on the electric pump all of the time?

I failed to mention the fuel pump is back on when the ignition key is turned on. Another conundrum.

Sounds to me like a fuse as Pete posted but... It really sounds like you have no power thru the ignition switch because your not hearing the electric fuel pump. Probably need to start at the battery connections with a test light. Touch the post and the clamp. See if you have continuity. Keep checking the connections to each item thats not working as it worked in the past. Sadly working under behind the dash is going to hurt. Get a good drop light. Some towels to lay on. Removing the front seat is a great way to work under the dash. Or find your best comfortable laying down from the drivers side to reach up to the ignition switch.

That's a start but no sound from the fuel pump leads me to believe there could be an open fuse in the circuit or a broken wire.

Sounds like you're not getting voltage to the solenoid's relay from the starter button. you can test this theory with a screw driver (short battery voltage to the relay) or use a volt meter and get a reading across the relay coil with and without the starter button pushed.

Hi, Have an electrical problem. First of all my car is NOT set up with a Startix. Somewhere a long the line my car was rigged with a regular solenoid. Turn on the ignition, step on the clutch, push the start button and vroom. Until 2 weeks ago when I went through the routine, could hear my electric fuel pump start, but when I pushed the starter button the starter made one turn and silence. Both pump and starter silent. I replaced the solenoid with a NOS part and my battery is in good shape. I haven't found a shop in Raleigh who will look at it, too old. Sooooo what should I look at or for next?
