I don't think glove box seals would have increased car sales.

Thanks EL, another Cord curio.
Makes you wonder why they bothered with a detailed change like that?

Glove Box Rubber Seals was created by Terry Cockerell
In the treasure trove of original Auburn Factory drawings recently shared by the Hupmobile Car Club one in particular shows a rubber seal that fits around the opening of glove boxes on Cords. It should fit all Cords but was highlighted as being for the model 812 Cords. Has anybody seen these seals fitted or it it a case of cost trimming with the seals never being fitted ?
The seal has Cord Part No G-8851 and could be used on both glove boxes as they are symmetrical. The original drawing was done on 10 - 8 - 36. The Part Number is not listed under the Glove Box section in the Cord Parts List
Any information on them would be appreciated.
