I needed one for my car, as the original tonite threads were worn out.
Got one from Joe. Fits just perfectly.
I had a painter friend do the finish work. He said it sands really easy. He used an epoxy primer, but said acrylic urethane should work also. He wanted to be sure my acrylic enamel color coat would stick.
I recommend Joe’s product.
CORDially, Tim.

Pat, I remember reading about this project in the newsletter. Joe has done a great job. No doubt other parts will follow.
I was able to repair my original . How much do Joe's reproductions cost?

My son, Joe Leahy is now producing excellent plastic horn caps on his 3D printer. Utilizing a special plastic, the parts are printed standing up in pairs. As you can see in photo, even the internal thread is produced and fits nicely without further finishing. While researching the project he found the original steel threaded cups are tapered like a freeze plugs. Only the outer threads grip tightly, so that is why most failed. He produce a straight plastic cup thread with thin backup washer. Plastic sands nicely and requires minimal cleanup. Let us know if you need one.
