Terry, I usually have everything running a little more rich than it should (and it is a lot better than too lean as seen a lot of not pretty too lean issues).
When I did the RRPI, I had everyone with 2 cents about tuning it and we would get it nice in the garage to have it fall flat on its face on the road - long story made longer, I doubt it ever passed a gas station when it was new and what a mess on the garage floor at idle.

Mike my manifolds were done by a guy who restores antique cast iron baths.
He told me to re- jet the carburettor to make it run a bit richer than stock to keep the exhaust gas temperature down. The coating will last longer with less heat. Hence the interest in Eastwood's internal coating.
I sent an email to Eastwood for more technical information and what sort of temperature drop to expect.
I will post the reply.

I am now using ceramic coating on exhaust manifolds and have them done commercially. They don't heat the manifolds hot enough to warp them and also coat the inside. They clam the manifold run cooler when they are coated on the inside. I use it to replace porcelain, but they are not shinny like porcelain but doesn't start fracturing off after 2500 miles!! Much cheaper than porcelain also. I think I paid around $150. for two Marmon 16 manifolds.

Gary I had the exhaust manifolds recovered in black porcelain. After hearing about this product I felt it would help to preserve the porcelain and also keep the heat down under the hood.

Have not heard anything about this. Why do you want to coat the insides?
