Congratulations on your "New" Cord! It sounds like this Cord has done some traveling in the last 35 years.

First can I ask your name?

It is not uncommon for sedans that were originally supercharged to now have a standard engine in them. Over the years a lot of owners of open cars that had a standard engine in them would buy a supercharged sedan and swap the engine, hood, fence and front fenders so they then had a S/C open car and they would then sell the sedan with the standard engine in it.

I don't have a lot of information on this car. The last thing I have is it was owned by H. Wilson in Florida in in the early 1960's. Maybe someone else has additional history on your Cord.

I hope you enjoy driving your Cord. They are great road cars.

Jim

Hello,

I am the new owner of this Cord 812 featured in “Classic & Sports Car” of November 2020

Article

I try to trace the history of this car prior to 2018. Here are the information I have

• This 812 have the chassis number 812 31635 S, body C96 145, which is a supposed to be a supercharger car, but the current engine is FB2370 non-supercharged. As there are no external hood pipes, the transformation was not just a simple engine swap.

• The car is currently in an excellent state and was completely restored probably 10 or 20 years ago

• Based on the records I have, this engine comes from a 1937 Phaeton chassis 812 1794 H.

• The original engine number, FC2134, is stamped on the chassis and is also on an old 1988 title from Texas I have.

• was owned by JOSEPH P BILLOTTA from Miami until march 1988. No information prior that

• was owned after by the company B-LINE FILTER AND SUPPLY INC in Odessa, Texas. blinefilter.com/ . The owner of that company was Mr. Omer Bishop. I have a copy of the Texas Title and it was the last registration known before 2020 (Licence number 323TMS)

• Was sold to Japan after, between 1988 and ?

• The car was sold by SAS Motorsport (Japan) to Dutton in New Zealand in may 2018 . The car seems to come from a Japanese collection. SAS Motorsport was an car part specialist in Ferrari... The company does not seems to exist anymore today. The car was never registered in Japan.

• The car arrived in June 2018 in NZ. On the pictures of that time, no external hood pipes, and the car was still referenced by his old engine number FC2134. The car was already restored at that time

• I a lot of restoration invoices from Auto restorations NZ on the engine and the gearbox. They told me that the car was stored for more than 20 years and they had to do some work to put the car on the road

• The car have been bought by DD Classic in London (UK) and registered as NXS 269 in October 2020.

• Now the car is my property and is in Belgium

I am looking for any information on the history of this car, especially before 2018.

Many thanks.
