The second paragraph should say the new windshield rubbers should hold themselves into the channel......but you probably guessed that! This would also be a good time to change the screws to stainless if they aren't. They can be hard to get out!

The new windshield frames should hold themselves into the channel of the frame. Line the straight sections up and then start working around the outside. You may have to pull them around a little to take out slack. If they don't want to stay, apply a slight amount of weatherstrip adhesive. I used 3M black in a couple spots on one seal.

Dereck: You rock!!! :D Thank you so much. After I get those installed, I intend to work on getting the driver's windshield wiper motor out!

There are NO screws holding the windshield weatherseals in place on the Cord sedan.

Look underneath the bottom edge, once they are opened all the way.

-Use a mirror if necessary.

The top screws should be accessable once the bottom is freed up, because the window can swing out to get at them!

Ah - be gentle, of course....

Mr. Dutch!
Thank you for your post. I would be most interested in your findings when you get into replacing the seals. Yes, my sedan has the roll out feature for the "A/C," on the windshields. I am just not seeing the screws or hardware holding the seals on the frame. Thanks again!

If they are "safari" type windows (two big knobs on the dash to open them with) I think all you need to do is open them all the way and then unscrew the attaching hardware.

I'm going to be replacing all of the rubber parts on mine, and from what I could see it appeared fairly simple.

- Assuming I can find the screws that were in it! Someone before me already went there, and left everything apart.

I bought the seals from Auburn-Cord Parts (Stan). Yes, that what I was trying to say, they didn't come with installation directions when they arrived.

Do you have the seals now? Where did you get them?

Due to the clearance at the top of each windshield on a sedan, I thought it was wise (save time from waiting on a new paint job! ) and necessary to remove the windshield assembly to replace the seals. Also, I am unsure if the seals are glued onto the frame assembly or just how they are installed. I did not get instructions when I purchased the parts. I also have not checked with Stan yet. I'm almost sure he would do them for me!!!

I would think that any reputable Windshield repair company can replace these for you. Am I wrong? What does Stan recommend?
