99 times out of a hundred the ball stud is what is worn. The round ball gets oval shape. The stud is easy to replace. I have had them made and hardened.
to factory specs. they are $120 each which is a lesser price than getting new units made. Be mindful the only way I sell parts is cash and carry.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

I'd like to hear how your experience getting your tie rod ends rebuilt with rare parts goes. It looks like their replacements are 7/8 which is smaller than original as Curt noted. One side looked like original other side not so much. Maybe they can use the specs from your originals to get it right.

Rare Parts Inc in CA has reproductions. I also just sent them a pair of genuine
tie rod ends to have them repaired.

NOS are .990 so are the reproductions. (hardened) .
All parts are cash and carry.

The Buick ball stud is too large in diameter. I have the correct new ones Craig.

There are a set on eBay right now. Look for tie rod # 14 or 1931 Buick tie rod ends. The ones on eBay don't look exactly like NOS.

I have also been looking for correct 851 tie rod ends without any luck. They are rebuild able but most of the internal parts are not available as far as I can tell. I've been thinking about plating the ball and removable socket to tighten it up.

Looking for L and R tie rod ends for 1935 Auburn 851 8cyl - used with 15/16" tie rod
All i have found use 7/8 "and 3/4" . What is used on the original 15/16" ?
Can anyone tell me where to buy L&R replacements or am i forced to go to 7/8" tie rod?
