Thank you. I was going to order some O rings from McMaster-Carr even before I posted this but wasn't sure of the size. I will go ahead and order them and give it a try. Thanks again.

Thickness of the rubber is 1/4". Simply set the O ring onto the stanchion in order to figure out how long it should be and cut a section out. Then glue the ends back together and allow to cure. Because it is oblong, set your new grommet in place onto the stanchion and carefully super glue it in place. {Don't use too much glue} You can also use tape to hold it in place while it dries.

Thank you. What is the diameter of the rubber and about how long is the pierce to be glued?

I have made these rubber grommets, using an oversized O ring. Simply cut it to the right size and crazy glue the ends together. Works perfectly fine.

After my wife passed away last July , the business closed. I supply parts simply as a favor.

Seems like a difficult way to do business for a grommet

To be clear, the ones I need are NOT the rubber pad that goes between the fender and the headlight stand. Many people are selling those. How much are the ones that go between the headlight stand and the headlight shell? I am in California. How would you get paid (cash and carry)? My email is [email protected].

Well if you tried all these shakers and movers of the industry. You have ended your search. Last time I talked with Metro about rubber pieces they told me if I could give them an original piece they could make a mold. Sadly I did not have an original. But at least they were willing to work with me.

Does anyone know of a source for the rubber grommet that goes between the headlight stand and the headlight shell on 1935 and 1936 Auburns? If no source is known, does anyone have a drawing or photograph or one so that I would know what it looks like? Thank you for your help.
