Auburn 680 Misc Engine Parts- Green or Black? was created by IndycarBruce
I should be getting my overhauled short block back from my engine re-builder soon. I bought the appropriate drab green engine paint from Auburn Cord Parts & will paint the block, head and other parts. I am not sure which color I should paint some of the other parts though.
1) I'm rebuilding the Carter BB1 carburetor and I have it nice & clean. I used a brass wire wheel on the exterior. Should I paint the exterior black or just use a clear coat over the cast iron?
2) Oil pan- drab green or black? (I saw a picture of the underside of a 1929 Auburn 890 and the oil pan was black.)
3) Rear engine mount (houses the flywheel)- drab green or black? (The rear engine mount on the above 890 was drab green.)

Thanks,
Bruce Wolfe
