IT HAS WHEEL DISK COVERS - you just cannot enlarge the photo like you can when it is on your phone to see such.

Well at least I did get your attention Mike.
Regarding the 810 Cords at the 1935 car shows they must have had the gear box cases in place as the 3rd engine mount is under the gearbox plus the drive shafts needed support. The gear boxes may have been "empty"
The canvas seen hanging under some Cords in period pictures was probably to catch any oil drips. See page 88 of The Timeless Classic.
The canvas would have attracted prying eyes and if there was a whole lot missing behind it more noise would have been made about it.
In the Canadian car show pictures the Cords were placed on carpets. My guess was to make it more comfortable for the "low down viewing."

Maybe they had no supercharger under the hood on this show car??? Like the Cord 810 didn't have transmissions as I understand.

I zoomed in on the picture I have but was unable to determine if it had metal covers or the wire wheels.
You can see a number of other period pictures looking in Google Images under the heading 1930s New York car shows.

Rare photo and must have just surfaced recently. When I found the "better" Auto Show pictured of Cord debut it was just about a week after Josh Malks signed off on the printing of his book - too late.

Might guess it is to keep viewers from opening hood.

I am not sure if the picture was taken in 1935 or 1936 there was no date attached to.
I just found this picture trolling through Google Images.
I wonder what the strap is across the bonnet ( hood) ?
