John, just to make sure we're talking about the same shop, it's Ron's Machine Shop in Shandon, Ohio (near Hamilton, OH) NW of Cincinnati. This is my first experience with them. Very nice people who seem to know what they are doing. But just don't be in a hurry to get your engine back because you're in for a long wait.
Anyway, if anyone has an example picture of what one of these baffles looks like, I'd really appreciate it.

Yes, mostly a Ford shop, though they get plenty of other make engines in too.

I have just looked through the Lycoming original drawings and there is no water plate drawing for the WR motor sorry.R

Thank you for checking on that. Lycoming drawings? Wow! Not that I really need them, but are those publicly available to guys like me? All I have is an illustrated parts manual for 1930 Auburns. It shows some engine parts but not all. Mine is a 1929 and the parts manual isn't illustrated.
