If the guard sat up immediately next to the radiator (aka touching radiator), then I would say yes to obstruction. I am leaning toward negligible obstruction as sits of from radiator. My guess is there is a math formula for this.

It's not leaves but all the small holes that do not flow well. Air does not go at right angles through a hole but curves around the obstruction thus only going through the very center of the opening. Just one persons opinion!

I guess if you were driving in the fall and leaves were falling off the trees you could have a problem, but same effect would happen even if just a radiator too. We had them on the 1931 Cadillacs - they were standard equipment that year - They are sort of a whitewall glitz kind of thing and certainly look better on some cars verses others.

I completely agree Mike. In addition they distract from the really good looks of the front of the car.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

I have always had the opinion that stone guards will restrict air flow through the radiator. Does anyone have another opinion? I have driven some miles and have never had a stone in a radiator. A broken windshield, now that's another matter!

I would like to know the answer to your question too (I use to know 10 years ago, but a lot has changed as to suppliers). Henry Yeska use to make, I think another fellow by the name of Burr Nurberg, and I think Brassworks bought out someones business.

Hello,

I want a protection for the radiator of my Auburn 6-66, for example shown in the picures. Does anybody know where I can buy or is it self-constructed?

Regards, Christian
