Sidenote: The Trip Mileage assembly on 34-36 Auburns is something I have had limited "long term" success fixing - not the highest quality of engineering (at least of any of the ones I have had apart).
I do have to say I love the 9 foot long cable !

You can also use a drill attached to the cable and run it counterclockwise to see if the speedo is functioning

If the cable is broken, why did it break. You should determine that before replacing the cable if it turns out to be broken. I had a cable break because the speedo was froze up, not ACD car.

Sounds reasonable, I'll give it a try.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

If you have a Dual Ratio, the speedo cable is 9 feet long ,. disconnect it from the rear axle.

Can't you just disconnect the cable from the speedometer and drive the car slowly and see if the cable turns? If the cable doesn't turn start there.

Speedometer Fix was created by kenswheels
Fall is officially here and it's time to start fixing the Cabriolet.
The speedometer (and thus odometer) do not work. Is there a way to determine if it is indeed the cable that's the problem? Could there be any other cause?
My next fix will be the fuel gauge. Stay tuned!
