Sidenote: With rare exception a 1935/36 has a welded spoke wheel (assume 1934 too) - the spokes are not adjustable and have a different design to the rim as to how the spoke attaches (a very different beast than a wheel with a spoke/nipple design). So, to restore you have to torch out the spokes, dimple (re -metal stamp) the rims, re-drill all the spoke hole angles, and .... (incredibly laborious process). Last I heard there was no one in United States offering the service.

Back in the 1970's I used to have Buchanan re-lace my Austin Healey wire rims. That's when they were located in Monterey Park Ca on Garvey Ave. Never had any issues then.Knew they moved but never knew where. Thanks for the information too..

Dayton Wire Wheel has tired on and off to offer the service via demand - they will not do it as generally results are not what is wanted. I am not sure if anyone is respoking welded spoke wire wheels either - you have to dimple the rims to put in adjustable spokes/nipples - most people not willing to pay for and most shops not willing to take on liability. As a sidenote - lots of crappy tires out there and make sure that is not the problem.

I would take them to a local truck shop and see what they say.

No picture intended. Wheels look fine, but wobble noticeably.

Can these wheels be straightened via press, or only by re-spoking and starting from scratch? Also, who can do this work?
