I have sidemount mirrors on my 850Y phaeton. They are too far away and they shake. Mirrors mounted to the windshield post are close and there is no vibration. The sidemount mirrors look cool to everyone else but the driver.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Why do you think the side-mount mirrors are ineffective? Those on my '31 898-A work fine. Probably as much vibration on the windshield posts as on teh side-moounts. And besides, you can get them with the Auburn logo, nice!

Ken,

I've mounted motorcycle side mirrors on my '37 Cord. They mount on the outside door handle, and can be easily removed if necessary. No permanent attachment. I've include some pics and links from Amazon below. I used a piece of 1/16" rubber sheet between the handle and the mirror mount to minimize any scratching and give a firmer mount. Not great, but definitely useable. If you go this route, tighten the mirror nuts TIGHT (not the mount nuts, but the nuts used to adjust the mirror position).

I've seen several sets that were mounted beh ind the knobs on the base of the windshield but the owners said they bought the cars that way and didn't know where the mirrors came from. I'd like a set too.

Hi guys.

I would love to have side mirrors on my '36 Cabriolet!
I've seen ones mounted on the spare tires, but they seem to be somewhat ineffective due to vibration.
Are there any (Auburn or not) that can mount on the windshield frame? I was thinking of the ability to mount on the post where the top usually is mounted and bolted.

Any thoughts?
