A color similar to this I would imagine. Any idea what the part number would be for the 12-165?

Hello To my knowledge this is a std taper what that is I do not know. Starting in 1932 the engineering and change notebook starts to get large with cost control measure and off hand I am not aware of all the changes but most had to do with a part being cheaper. R

Moris taper is the design on a drill bit, machining tool or kinda many "things" found in the machine shop. Try google search to actually "see" the moris taper. There are several standard sizes. Usually they have a key made for easy removal once they are set in a drill press, lathe or milling machine.

Curt would you care to guess that the taper on the bore is a standard Morse taper?

Thanks for the quick response Randy ! So, the take-away is :
All 1931's have the small bore
All 32's have the large bore
33 & 34 12's large bore 8-101 & 8-105 ?????
All 34-36 6 & 8 small bore.

Steering Wheel Bore size was created by Curt Schulze
I have a 31, 898 that uses the same steering wheel as a 34-36 6 & 8 ( not considering black or brown) It is a conical bore measuring approximately .815 at the top. A, 12 cylinder wheel has a larger bore of approximately .95. A friend with a 32 8-100 requires a steering wheel with with the larger bore, same as the 12's Is this correct?
