No trick. The originals were hex , so you can put a wrench on it. The old ones will fail with DOT5 . I can supply a new one that has the hex and will not fail with silicone fluid.

Little A, little B.
Checked the lights, they work.
Check the switch...Nothing.
Looks like I need a new one. Any trick to replacing it?

Sure, if the wiring is good and the sockets and the bulb is good. I thought you wanted to check the switch.

Just to cheat, if I connect the 2 studs shouldn't the brake lights come on?

One side has a hot wire . Have someone step on the brake pedal , check the other side and see if there is power there.

Hi Curt.
Found it!
Is there a way I can figure out if it's still working?

A brake booster did not come on your car from the factory. The brake light switch is on top of the brake junction block that is bolted to the LH frame rail near the cowl. If you need a brake light switch, I have new ones that are impervious to DOT5 and judge well.

Thanks for the help guys.
Now, I can't seem to locate the stop light switch. Is it near the booster, on the firewall, or??
The black wire in the attached pic has no mate. It is with the other light wires on the driver side fender/firewall. Any idea what it is for?
Your help is always appreciated!

I agree with Jim. Strange phenomenon with lights is usually ground problems.

Start with a check to see if the brake switch works then proceed to the turn signal switch wiring.

Turn Signals and Brake Lights was created by kenswheels
Hello everyone.

Upon driving to a show this weekend, my followers noticed that I had no brake lights and when signaling, both sides flashed when signaling left or right.

Any suggestions where I should start looking?
