My guess is this might have been a return from the over pressurization post but..I have never seen this engine oil pump apart. Just a guess.

Hello. Every oil pump has a pickup and a return so at least two holes ,see if you can figure out the oil routing in that continental engine. R

My guess is to leave it covered as original. The mating surface has no hole for oil to flow through

Oil pump was created by the_helmut
Hello, I build a new gasket/seal for the oil pump of my 1928 Auburn 6-66 AT. After cleaning the metal and builing a new gasket I see, that there is a hole, that is covered by the original gasket. Is this correct, or I have to cut a hole in the gasket so the oil can flow through it? I circled the hole on the pictures.
