Interesting !! The Central tag tells the story. The early 34 hubcaps and the lack of grill script remain a mystery.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Hello. This car started life as a 6 cyl sedan but with a trunk and internal spare not side mounted like the old photo. This car did not get this engine until the late 50s so it was not done when it was new. R

I do not believe this is a Cummins powered car. There are only 4 known to have existed. First 2 were convertibles, one caught fire shortly after the conversion (unrelated to the engine), second was driven coast to coast on a promotional tour. However, an accident in 1937 totaled the car. Both presumed scrapped. Third was a sedan, but did not have a fender mounted spare, was painted white and had Cummins badging on the hood, different from the car pictured. This car is still in possession of Cummins, pictured below. Fourth was installed in a Auburn 7 passenger limo and given to American Airlines, whereabouts unknown.

I think you are right about the early 34 hubcaps. This may have been one of those Cummins diesel cars.

This is an interesting photo - you cannot tell if a tube shock car - possibly due to photo angle and it certainly could be a lever shock car (making it mid 1935 through 1936). It does not have an 851 or 852 emblem on the grill. And, very difficult to see in the photo, though it appears to have 1934 hubcaps - without the embossed "8" on them.
