Not uncommon to renumber and sell leftovers from one year to another, especially by makers with lower production numbers. I know it was done up into the 1960s

Auburn has been known to re badge the previous model year and sell them as current. It is really a 27 sold as a 28.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Hello,

one last question. The 666A was only build in 1927. Could it be, that some cars were finished in 1928? I found this post at ACD-forum, and there are some 6-66 starts with serial number in 1928.

Thanks Randy. Did Central start with 101 all the way thru 1936?

I think C-7 is the body style and 296 is the sequence number of that body style. Randy, correct me if I am wrong here !

Hello. The orig serial plate was on the firewall in the inside of the car above the gas pedal. If there is a frame number on a left hand drive car it is on the right frame rail usually around the holes for a right hand drive steering gear. All that being said it may not have a stamped frame number. Good luck let me know what you find. R
