It is a steel shaft on a plain bushing sealed by a rope packing.
Stan at Auburn Cord parts can help you with parts or you can find a local machinist to make you a new stainless shaft and bushing.

Water Pump Inspection and Rebuild was created by curtiss
While trying to track down my heating issue I thought about cracking open the water pump that is driven by the generator.
My question is how are are they to rebuild and is there a source for parts and what parts typically go bad?
Any pictures of one opened up or instructions? I looked in all of the books I bought and did not find anything.
