Thanks to all for the help! Problem solved. It was a piece of trash in the needle valve. Runs like a top again. Pete

The advice is correct - either clean or replace the needle and seat in the carb. The old Auburn will settle down and run better too!

Your float needle at the inlet of the carb. does not close if dripping occur.
Dirt , water or sludge will prevent the needle from closing.

Well, I've rebuilt my fuel pump and it stopped the leaking. Now I have a regular dripping of gas from the underside of the carb. The gas is dripping from the bottom of the air intake area. Any ideas on what is causing my problem? I can't believe that these problems have developed back to back in a very short period of time. Oh well. Pete
