American cars have 2 wipers for the windscreen. This would be safer as well. The problem is that the open cars require a wiper motor with a heart shaped cover and a regulator - all chrome plated. These were only used on USA cars 1932-36 and are scarce.

MANY THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION YOU BOTH SUPPLIED SO PROMPTLY . I NOW HAVE A FEW MORE


SHOULD I ONLY FIT ONE WINSCREEN WIPER TO THE CAR ; IF SO IT WOULD NEED TO BE ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE AS THIS IS THE DRIVERS SIDE IN NZ ?

MAYBE ONE DAY I MAY CONSIDER SENDING THE CAR BACK TO THE STATES SO I NEED TO MAKE THE DISCISION BEFOR PLATING THE WINDSCREEN FRAME
WHAT SIZE HOLES ARE REQUIRED IN THE SCREEN FOR THE WIPER SHAFT TO PROTRUDE THROUGH ?
your help will be appreciated
